Marketing Franchise Sales on the Internet

By Lance Winslow

Tip! Go into research. That is, read everything you can find on the internet, running an internet business, and internet marketing.

When marketing a franchise business to find buyers on the Internet one has to be extremely careful not to break any rules. In fact as easy as that sounds it is not as easy as you might think.

For instance in some states you cannot use the words; Successful, wealth, make money, etc., as some states like California do not want the residents in their states to get the wrong idea about whatever it is you are offering in the way of franchising.

The Department of Corporations in California registers Franchise Companies who wish to sell in their state and often asks for copies of their website. Unfortunately these government lawyers are a little overwhelmed when your company has a website with 13,000 pages on it, as ours did. By the time they would get done reading it all for possible violations it would be the next year and by that time you would have to renew your application you see?

Tip! Email marketing is a common internet marketing solution. This is a cost effective way of communicating and interacting to your consumers, driving them to visit your website to check out your products.

Also many franchising companies also have newsletters about sales that their franchisees are making and that might be construed as earnings claims, even if the Franchising Corporation chooses not to make earnings claims. All this inhibits the franchising companies from competing in the market place with non-franchising companies.

It is obvious that the government regulators are brown having had their heads so far up their butts for so long they cannot see sun. Remember all this when marketing your franchise company on the Internet in 2006.
